Adult Support Groups – We offer themed peer-support groups designed to help survivors explore their social and personal growth in a supportive environment. Groups take place on a semester basis and registration is required.

BRAINY Support Groups – Groups for children between the ages of 6 and 18 whose parent or other loved one has an acquired brain injury.

Caregivers Support Group – This is a six-week facilitated mutual support group for family caregivers and friends of adults with acquired brain injuries.

Peer Mentorship Program – This is a monthly support group for survivors who wish to become more involved in peer support, outreach and educational opportunities at SABIS, the Foothills Medical Centre and in the community.


Service CoordinationCase Managers provide information, support and assistance to clients. They help clients to find and access the supports and services available to them in the community.

Educational Services – The Brain Injury Survival Guide is available free-of-charge through SABIS. We also have a Resource Centre with pamphlets and brochures on community agencies and programs. Upon request, SABIS will set up information booths or provide in-service presentations on the causes and effects of acquired brain injuries on individuals, their families, and the community.
